Groupon FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Congratulations on purchasing your Toronto Harbour Tour ticket through Groupon! With this great deal you can come enjoy a cruise on the Toronto Harbour and through the scenic Toronto Islands. It’s the best view in town!

Here we have listed the answers to some Frequently Asked Questions about the tour, and how you can use your Groupon ticket.

Q: Do I need to book in advance to take the tour?

A: No, you do not need to book in advance. You simply show up to our dock ahead of a scheduled departure and show your ticket to our staff. They will get you on the next available departure. Our schedule changes based on the season, so click here to see when the tour departs.

Please note, our vessels have a maximum capacity that is always adhered to. If the next departure is sold out, you may have to wait until the next departure after. But don’t worry! This does not happen too often, and we have departures leaving every 30 minutes through July and August.

Q: Who can use a Groupon ticket?

A: Anyone! The ticket is good for Adults, seniors, students, and children. Please remember one Groupon voucher is good for one passenger.

Q: What about small children?

A: Children two and under are FREE. You do not need to use a Groupon ticket or pay for children under two.

Q: Where do I go to take the tour?

A: Our dock is located at Pier 6, right at the intersection of York St. and Queen’s Quay West, at the heart of Toronto’s waterfront. It is a short walk, or two street car stops from Union Station. Click here for a map of our location.

Q: When Can I take the tour?

A: Your Groupon voucher expires October 31st, 2011. That’s the whole boating season! Please note there is one black out date: July 1, Canada Day, you will not be able to redeem your Groupon voucher.

Q: Can I get off on the islands?

A: Yes! Toronto Harbour Tours has the only tour that drops-off and picks-up on the Toronto islands. Our island stop starts Mid-may and runs to the end of September. You have the option to get off half way through the tour, and rejoin us throughout the day to take the second half of the tour back from the islands.

Please note that the island stop can be subject to cancellation based on weather conditions and the availability of the island dock. There are a few dates in the summer in which the island dock is not accessible due to special events.

Q: What if I don’t want to get off on the islands?

A: Don’t worry, getting off on the islands is optional. You can stay on and continue with us on the tour. Remember, even if you don’t get off on the islands, the tour goes right through the island lagoons and you get a great chance to see and hear all about them.

Q: Is the tour narrated?

A: Yes! We think you’ll find we have the best tour guides around! Our tour guides are young, energetic, engaging, and the tour has a very interactive feel. It combines education with entertainment, and you will hear all about the city of Toronto, plus our unique perspective on Toronto’s waterfront and the Toronto Islands.

Q: What happens to the tour in bad weather?

A: It may happen that bad weather will alter our tour schedule or require us to shut down tours on a regularly scheduled day. Usually there are only a handful of days throughout the year in which the tour must be shut down for this reason. If a tour is canceled and you have tried to use your Groupon ticket, don’t worry, you’re ticket is good any time throughout the 2011 season.
